Ingredients
1 Onion, chopped
2 Tablespoons butter
1 (15 oz) Can sauerkraut with juice
2 (14 1/2 oz) Cans chicken broth
6 Cups water
5 Cups mushrooms, chopped
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
1 Tablespoon chicken soup base
Salt & pepper to taste
3/4 Cup small pasta
Instructions
In a stockpot over medium heat saut� onion in butter until brown. Stir in sauerkraut with juice, chicken broth, water, mushrooms, garlic and chicken soup base. Season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Stir in pasta and simmer 10 minutes more, until pasta is al dente.
