Ingredients
2 Pounds ground beef
2 Teaspoons salt
1/4 Teaspoon pepper
1/2 Cup water
1/4 Cup fine dry breadcrumbs
2 Medium onions, sliced
2 Cups beef gravy, or more (recipe below)
Instructions
Mix all ingredients except onions and gravy. Shape into 8 patties and brown in a greased skillet. Turn; add onions. Add gravy; cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Serve with hot cooked rice.
Beef Gravy
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a saucepan. Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour and whisk until smooth. Pour in 2 cups of water. Stir until smooth. Add two heaping teaspoons of Tone's beef base and 1 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet or other gravy coloring; stir until thickened.
